One of the most mind blowing 3D virtual world platforms, that will soon be launched, is Sony's Playstation Home. We just watched a demonstration video of this new 3D platform which was marked by extremely realistic graphics integrated into a very user friendly interface.
An interesting feature, and very smart business move by Sony, is Playstation Video games will actually unlock content that can be used in their 3D world.
Playstation Home can support HD Quality video which makes for an interesting place for people to socialize and discuss video content. The demonstration video also showed how dynamic advertising can be supported within the virtual world.
If the graphics and functionality are any indication of where 3D virtual worlds are heading, we are about to see the a technological revolution that will compare to the dot com days.
