Print a 3D Model of Your Property (Desktop Factory)

3Dwalkthroughs.com is always on the lookout for innovative uses of 3D Technology. Today, I came across a Pasadena-based company, Desktop Factory, that has developed a lower-cost 3D desktop printer as compared to it's costly predecessors. Desktop Factory announced that the company will begin accepting reservations for its forthcoming printer, with intentions to bring 3D printing to the masses.

Imagine being able to print a durable 3D Model of a property as a complement to a 3D Walkthrough or 3D Rendering. The 3D Model could be painted and enclosed in glass in a sales office, making for a very effective marketing tool or even as a tool for architects to better gauge the end result of their drawings before a property is built.

ABOUT DESKTOP FACTORY
Our Passion
Our goal is to one day make 3D printing as common in offices, factories, schools and homes as laser printers are today. Just as desktop publishing exploded as prices dropped and laser printers became ubiquitous, so too will new uses for 3D printing emerge as devices become inexpensive and widely available.

Desktop Factory was started by Idealab in 2004 to realize this goal. Collectively, our team has over 100 years of experience in 3D printing, laser printing and CAD/CAM. We are combining these talents to bring 3D printing capability to designers, engineers, students and eventually hobbyists and other home users.
