It is amazing to see how fast the new home of the NY Mets is progressing. It seems like only yesterday plans were unveiled for the new stadium, and now the frame work of the stadium is about 80% completed.
According the NY Mets website more than 70% of the stadium concrete plank has been installed and the brick façade is well on its way to totally enclosing the administration building.
On Thursday it was announced that Billy Joel will make "The Last Play at Shea" in a final concert at Shea Stadium on July 16.
The concert will take place the night after baseball's All-Star game at Yankee Stadium.
Citi Field is scheduled to be open for the 2009 season. A detailed construction update can be found on the NY Mets website which contains photos of the progress at the constuction site.

3Dwalkthroughs.com just started saving our pennies to be able to afford the Billy Joel concert which is sure to be a big (and expensive) event.
