Can 3D Walkthroughs Benefit Emergency First Responders?

3Dwalkthroughs.com is very confident that 3D Walkthroughs and Interactive 3D Floor Plans will continue to be the pre-sales property marketing tools of choice for new development projects. However, on the day after 9/11 coupled with this morning's earthquake that toppled many buildings in Indonesia, I cannot help but wonder how our technology can be utilized to benefit emergency first responders, trapped in an unfamiliar setting.

Clearly one of the concerns with archiving interior 3D walkthroughs would be security. If detailed layouts of public properties are available to everyone, this potentially gives the "bad guys" information they can use to harm us.

Another issue is the ability to send these 3D products to emergency first responders while they are on their way to an event. As mobile technology continues to improve this should become less of an issue, but it does seem to pose a problem today.

Needless to say we are very open to any suggestions that might address these 2 issues and allow us or any other 3D company to offer emergency first responders a tool that will help them better navigate in unfamiliar surroundings.
